As y’all know, I had my 2016 Mazda6 professionally detailed and ceramic coated over a week ago. It has been in the garage since then, because I’m working from home now. I took it out today to get some fresh air and sunlight.
I bought this car brand new with 6 miles on it in October of 2015 and it didn’t look this good back then (it has 48,500 miles now).
I’ve added remote start, heated seats, window rain guards, Husky liners floor mats, an OEM Mazda trunk mat, chrome mirror trim pieces, OEM navigation, tinted windows, a rear spoiler, and tiny Mazda valve stem caps. My only future add-on will be Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.
It has been and continues to be a great car. It’s a perfect “dad car”, as you can see by my son’s car seat in the back (and my soon-to-be-born daughter’s car seat will go back there as well). Averages high-20s in the city as far as gas mileage and mid-30s on the highway. Has never had any mechanical issues, and the only warranty work I’ve had to have done were fixes to a piece of upholstery on the driver’s seat and replacement of a chrome trim piece coming loose on the trunk lid.
I’ve driven it from Kentucky to Florida three times now, packed to the gills with us and a week’s worth of beach stuff. It has plenty of power (contrary to popular belief) and is a great highway cruiser - the huge trunk helped on vacation, too.
Best part of all: it’s paid off.
The only thing I’d change about it is to force Mazda to sell the 6 wagon here so I could have one of those.

6 wagon? Yes please

I really do wish they’d sell them here. I get why they don’t (Americans have bad taste and just want SUVs), but still. A 6 wagon takes everything I love about this car and makes it more useful and gives it more cargo space. Perfection.

Agreed . I’ve considering upgrading from my 3 to a 6, but I don’t want to lose the cargo space of the hatch.
